Rigid Heddle Weaving - Beginner (#11502)
Tuesday, 10 am - 4 pm, November 5.
Skill Level - Beginner
Students will learn the basics of weaving on a rigid heddle loom. You will be shown the parts, what each one does and be given a handout about rigid heddle weaving. You will learn how to calculate the amount of yarn needed for a project. You will learn terminology and how to warp a rigid heddle loom. You can choose whether to weave a scarf or coasters. You will go home with a finished project. You are encouraged to bring a rigid heddle loom in good working condition; however, we will have looms available for use if needed.
Anne will provide handouts, several choices of yarn, warping tools, shuttles and looms if necessary. We will give group and individual instructions where needed.
Students may bring their own looms in good working condition. Students may bring worsted weight yarn for the project. A skein would be good, you’ll have leftovers. Most importantly bring a desire to learn.
